Hygrotech was established in February 1984, and quickly grew to selling a diverse range of products into the South African Agricultural market. Since 2018, Hygrotech is proud to also be part of the Zaad Holdings group of companies. The varieties of the initial product range has changed over the years as Hygrotech evolved over time to keep up with the newest trends in agriculture.

At Hygrotech, we employ a unique approach to seed sourcing. We scour the globe for superior and exclusive vegetable genetics, bringing them to our trial grounds near Pretoria and at Stellenbosch for rigorous testing.
By comparing varieties from various genetic backgrounds, we pinpoint those best suited to thrive in our local conditions.
Following meticulous screening, promising varieties are introduced to potential growers across South Africa through trials. Only after passing these trials with flying colors do we make these exceptional seeds available to you.
